Terms & Conditions

  Pricing and Availability

  • Prices listed are for a single tuber unless otherwise specified.

  • All sales operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Items in your cart are not reserved and are not guaranteed until the purchase is complete. Products may be removed from your cart if another order is completed before yours.

  • All sales are final.

  Responsibility and Care

  • Fall shipped tubers are meant for growers who are experienced at storing. This sale is not advised for growers who are not confident in their storing practices.

  • We are not responsible for poor growing conditions, changes in color due to soil differences, or improper storage.

  • We cannot guarantee the performance of tubers due to variables beyond our control. Proper care and conditions are the responsibility of the buyer to ensure successful growth.

  Quality and Inspection

  • Tubers will be labeled and will be larger than a AAA battery. All tubers are divided on the same or the following day they are dug up when eyes are easier to spot.

  • Some tubers have skinny necks making them more prone to drying out. These will still be sold and shipped. I recommend the plastic wrap storage for tubers like this.

  • Only tubers that I am comfortable overwintering will be sold.

  • Due to the wet season, many tubers have lenticels. These are not to be mistaken for disease (gall).

  • Most tubers will have their bottoms cut off. This allows me to verify there is no rot or make them more manageable to ship.

  • Ugly tubers will still grow grow and produce beautiful flowers! I aim to send the ‘beautiful’ tubers and keep the ugly ones myself, but some may slip through.

  • Our crops are inspected annually by the Iowa Department of Agriculture for pests and disease.

  • Each tuber is personally inspected before shipping to ensure they are disease-free and true to name to the best of our knowledge. However, due to the prevalence of latent viruses in dahlias, there is no absolute guarantee of being disease-free. Tubers suspected of being diseased are discarded, and random disease testing is performed at a local plant pathology lab.

  • Cutting tools are sanitized between each cut using a 10% bleach solution, and crop rotation is practiced every three years to minimize the risk of disease.

  • We reserve the right to cancel orders if stock quality is deemed unsatisfactory. Although current stock is accurate, adjustments may be necessary. Buyers will be contacted if any alterations need to be made before shipping.

  Shipping and Handling

  • Check your tubers within two days of delivery to ensure quality. Defective tubers will be replaced or refunded within this timeframe. Please email murthaflowerfarm@gmail.com with your order number and photos of the tubers within two days of delivery.

  • We are not responsible for damage during shipping, including frozen tubers. It is the buyer's responsibility to consider weather conditions and provide proper storage for fall-shipped tubers. If you are uncertain about winter storage, it is advised not to purchase fall-shipped tubers.

  • Shipping to continental US states. Will not ship to Canada or Hawaii

  • Fall sale tubers will ship between 11/02 and 11/04.
